Another interconnect lead from the mists of time ... used for VTR interconnecting from the machine to auxiliary equipment.
Looks to have been carrying either S-Video signals plus possibly mono audio or it was purely a control cable - it was a long time ago so I cannot recall exactly where this lead fitted into the scheme of things!
Both mini-DIN's look to be completely sealed so I cannot take a look inside but I have DC resistance tested all pins and the results are further down in this description.
GENERIC - VTR Interconnect Lead
Country of origin is unknown (not marked) but I the video equipment was Japanese
The connectors are a little unusual (not the usual 4 or 6 pin) 5 Pin mini DIN males at each end
The 4.5mm OD Grey-Greenish cable sheath has no identification markings at all
90cm length
Pins are Silver coloured and I believe these are Nickel plated (negative to Silver metal test)
TESTING:
As I could not remove either connector housing to take a look inside, I DC resistance tested at each end of the cable and can confirm that all measures fine i.e Pin 1 to Pin 1, Pin 2 to Pin 2 right through to Pin 5. No pins are internally connected together nor are there any "crossovers" AND there is no connection between any pin and the outer metal body of the plug(s), in fact there is no continuity between the outer body of one plug and that at the other end of the cable.
