Salvaged from various loudspeaker systems ...
These loudspeaker terminalS, mounted on a plate have been removed from various loudspeaker systems which were deemed to be beyond restoration. Yes, unfortunately I can only find one set at the moment so this would only be useful for PA speaker cabinets (although they would probably be using Speakon's) or as a replacement to an existing terminal set.
Why "part out" such components?
I am very much "into" sustainability, a manufactured component (no matter how small) represents an appreciable amount of embedded energy and to waste that embedded energy is a very bad thing, even worse is to bury it in landfill and subsequently poison our environment!
What is embedded energy?
Embedded energy is a measurement of the total energy that was used to create a component, a module or a complete piece of equipment originally and should include all processes used in the manufacture of the item, from obtaining the raw materials, processing them, making the product and then shipping to another manufacturer in the "chain" or being supplied directly to stores as a finished product for retail sale.
UNBRANDED - Speaker Terminals Mounted
Country of origin is Taiwan (stamped into the rear of the plates)
Terminal material: Metal, possibly Brass with a Gold plating.
Terminal colours: Black & Red identification bands on each terminal
Terminal type: Banana socket OR hard wire insertion through the 5mm diameter side hole
Both terminals use an 'oversized' solder tag although it appears to me that these could also be used with spade connectors.
Mounting plate is Black plastic, rectangular with mounting holes in all four corners
DIMENSIONS:
Rectangular plate: 92mm Wide x 78mm Height
14mm flange on all sides so the mounting hole into which the plate fits into the wall of the cabinet only needs to be 78mm x 64mm
COSMETIC CONDITION:
USED
Clean
NO damage at all to either terminal
Top section of each terminal can completely unscrew and be removed so inspection of their condition was easy - both are clean and shiny both in the through hole and topside for a banana plug
Black plastic mount has NO cracks or other physical damage
NO markings or scratches to the mounting other than + & - stamped into the plastic
Shame that I can only find one of these at the moment but it may still be useful to someone ...
This plate with the terminals installed has been placed within a sealed clear plastic pack, anxiously waiting to bring life to another loudspeaker system!
