HISTORY:
From the spare parts drawers in the previous business workshops, dated but in perfectly good condition - NEW and UNUSED ...
These loudspeaker terminals, which are mounted on a rectangular Phonelic (like a composite resin) strip, are the old 'push down to open and insert the wire' type.
Unfortunately I have only found one of these but it may still be useful to someone.
GENERIC - Strip Mounted Speaker Terminals
Country of origin is unknown (no markings or stamping on the plate or terminal posts at all)
Terminal material: Nickel plated metal, plastic terminal body
Terminal colours: Black & Red identification colouring used for each terminal
Terminal type: 'Push to Open' hard wire insertion through the 2mm diameter hole
Solder tags used for wiring.
Mounting strip is a Brown phonelic material, which indicates to me that I have had this for around 40 years sitting in the drawers (in a sealed packet)!
DIMENSIONS:
Rectangular mounting strip: 48mm Wide x 16.3mm Height x 1.6mm Thick
The 3mm Ø holes for mounting are spaced 37.5mm apart or 5.25mm from each edge
COSMETIC CONDITION:
NEW
Clean
NO damage at all to either terminal, this means the plastic is not damaged or cracked and both springs are not 'sloppy' in their action, upon release they hold the wire securely in place.
Contact areas of the terminals are clean, bright and shiny
NO damage to the rectangular mounting strip.
This mounting strip with the two push to open terminals has now been placed back into a sealed clear plastic packet, waiting for someone to "put it to work'
