Back to cleaning up my previous audio post production workshop spare parts. Closed down the studios (mastering etc) and "retired" from the game quite some time ago and I am ever so slowly working through the bits and pieces that need to find new workshops to "live in"
I am very much "into" sustainability, a manufactured component (no matter how small) represents an appreciable amount of embedded energy and to waste that embedded energy is a very bad thing, even worse is to bury it in landfill and subsequently poison our environment!
What is embedded energy?
Embedded energy is a measurement of the total energy that was used to create a component, a module or a complete piece of equipment originally and should include all processes used in the manufacture of the item, from obtaining the raw materials, processing them, making the product and then shipping to another manufacturer in the "chain" or being supplied directly to stores as a finished product for retail sale.
Here is yet more of the optical spare parts I have unearthed today ...
UNIDENTIFIED MANUFACTURER - Bi Colour LED
These look to have been salvaged from some mystery equipment, I did not record where these came from.
Colour: ORANGE-RED or GREEN
Nice package, two LEDs in the one 5mm body with each being controlled separately (three leads)
DIMENSIONS:
5mm diameter body x 8.95mm length
The three leads are a minimum of 15.5mm length
Centre lead (Cathode) is common to both LED's
Diffused (Milky White) body
COSMETIC CONDITION:
USED
Clean
NO oxidisation to the leads
TESTING:
Using a voltage source of 2.3V , I took at look at these LED's in operation. I do not have the intensity data any longer but these look to be pretty run of the mill, around 20mcd light intensity.
NOTE: my camera is not good in the colour balance arena and the Green looks almost Yellow, in reality it is Green and the Red is definitely more like an Orange-Red instead of a Ruby Red.
If you would like more than one LED, an automatic discount is applied in the checkout. No minimum's apply.
