Every piece of equipment powered via the single phase AC mains supply should have one of these installed in the AC supply input line and often (but not always) there is some sort of EMI filtering built into the IEC rear panel socket or internally but this is not always the case with commercial equipment.
If you have electronic equipment that is behaving strangely, particularly when other equipment is being turned on or off e.g motors or one of the worst culprits for generating unwanted EMI are SMPS based systems, then you may have an EMI issue (in a nutshell, there are unwanted nasties travelling along for the ride with the expected AC supply line)
The beauty of these "stand-alone" modules is that you can disconnect your existing rear panel IEC socket wiring, connect this EMI filter block between the power coming in and the power going to your equipment internally and your EMI problems MAY BE be solved.

COSMETIC CONDITION:

These filters have now been packed into individual sealed packets to maintain their current very good condition, waiting to have a purpose in life!
