Sustainability is the name of the game! Anything (that has been tested and still functioning properly) should be repurposed creating saving in wasted Ee and reducing the poisoning our environment when items are buried in the earth at the local tip needlessly.

Never heard of Ee? It is a concept that creates a measurement of ALL things (not just electronics) that humans have made and the energy used in obtaining the raw material, processing the materials right through to a finished product and even should include the shipping of the item to the distributors/retailers.

If you would like to know more about Ee values, please take a look HERE

If you know your switches, whether it be an UND or another quality manufacturer, these illuminated push switches are super expensive (normally).

Great switch where positive visual feedback is required when the switch changes state, of course how the lamp operates is determined by the wiring.

SPECIAL NOTE:

Do you notice that there are 6 contacts at the rear but I have called this a SPDT switch? I test (wherever feasible) all the items I am offering as used and one set of contacts I was not happy with. One set is fine but the other, I suspect has contaminated contacts ... read about this in the test section below

Designed and made by a very well known, quality switch manufacturer in USA - UND. LAB

UND. LAB (USA) - Push Switch

Made in USA

Part number: 8621

Type: Double Pole Double Throw*

* Consider this as a SPDT switch, using one set of contacts (marked) is not recommended!

Rating (stamped into the body) is 3A 125V ~ or 2A 250V ~

Action: Push ON Push OFF (locking)

Black body (which I believe is thermoplastic)

Front Green bezel is diffused, friction fit so it is quite easy to remove (for lamp replacement)

Incandescent lamp is the wedge type, 14V - this lamp is included, lifetime unknown

Solder tag terminations to the rear (or you could use thin spade female connectors)

Panel snap fit (metal not plastic) mounting

Required cutout for the switch

17.25mm x 26.40mm

DIMENSIONS:

Switch Body: 30.6mm x 20.15mm x 36.75mm depth

Diffused Green button 15.10mm x 25mm

COSMETIC CONDITION:

USED

CLEAN

NO body damage

NO bezel or internal lamp damage (see the 'powered up' photograph)

All solder terminations are clean and although slightly dull due to oxidisation, they remain perfectly serviceable.

Switch action has clean movement and the locking is positive, not sloppy!

TESTING

Tested? Usually I test any component that is used and this switch was subjected to basic DC resistance tests.

One set of contacts is fine, sub-one Ohm in either direction HOWEVER  the other set of contacts looks to have a contaminated contact issue as in ONE direction contact resistance is fine (again, less than one Ohm) but in the other direction I get a reading that can be anywhere between 70 ~ 400 Ohm, this is not good for a switch!

This switch is completely sealed, I can see no way inside and a squirt of cleaning into 'suspicious looking holes' had absolutely no effect on the resistance reading.

I have marked the two contact terminations with Black dots at the rear of the switch - it would be best NOT to use this contact set.

I have now placed this switch into a sealed clear plastic packet, waiting to be "reborn" into a custom project or non-critical equipment!

USED Exactly as described
