BACKGROUND:
I am cleaning up ALL the various leads, patch cables etc that we had on hand hanging around in the audio workshop area. Each lead is advertised separately and I have attempted to provide as much information as possible about the lead.
This cable, although short is eminently suitable for analog balanced audio patch panel leads.
Geez Russ, why keep such mundane things? ( I hear you ask)
I am a technical creature of the past, I love all things made by hand (point to point wiring, single sided boards etc) and OLD technology based on analog signals - no 0's & 1's but lovely flowing sine waves.
I actually had a lot more of this cable and using some very nice all Brass jack plugs, which we used to make up some "special" patch leads for jack fields - just for fun but "old school" impressive none-the-less
Those leads were all snapped up by the first person who saw them and now there is just a few offcuts of the same cables that we used ... lonely, sad, neglected ... these lonely lengths of cable are just waiting for a new home - someone who can fashion it into a nice vintage patch lead and pump audio through it!
UNBRANDED - Audio Cable
Manufacture of this cable is unknown (unmarked) but it could have been Bambach, not sure!
Multi-strand 2 Core (Red & White insulation colours)
Wrapped Jute filler (look for the White cloth-like material in one of the photographs) inside the cable - this was commonly used to maintain the cable shaping back in the 1970's ~ 1980's
Tight, braided, multi-strand tinned copper shield
There are currently two cable off-cuts, the only differences are the cable sheath colour and one is slight shorter in length - if this is important to you, the desired off-cut can be selected using the selection box on this page.
1: Black
Vinyl outer sheath (medium flexibility/softness)
Cable length: 2 metres
Sheath outside diameter: 5mm
The sheath has absolutely NO identification markings at all but I do know this cable came from the same source as other identical cables i.e ABC workshops
2: Grey
Vinyl outer sheath (medium flexibility/softness)
Cable length: 1.7 metres
Sheath outside diameter: 5mm
Again, the sheath has absolutely NO identification markings at all but I do know this cable came from the same source as other identical cables i.e ABC workshops
COSMETIC CONDITION:
Old Stock
CLEAN
NO sheath damage to either cable
The tinned shield braid is shiny (not dull or oxidised!)
These cable off-cuts are now packed into sealed clear plastic packets, awaiting another purpose in life!
