This adapter was kept 'on hand' when working with old laptops that I wished to have internet connectivity while testing them. Once the laptop was tested, away this adapter went until the next old laptop came along. I have no need for this adapter any longer

LINKSYS (CISCO) - Wireless USB Network Adapter

Manufactured in China

Model: WUSB54G Version 4.0

Legacy equipment, released to market around 2005

USB interface

54Mbps capable

Plenty of information online about these but they are a 'snap' to use and great if you have an old portable computer (laptop in particular) with a USB port, connecting to WiFi is a quick and easy task.

Basically you will receive the small plastic cased adapter and the required USB cable.

You don't need anything else to get this box running i.e no external power supply is needed.

As with many legacy items, getting the software can be a problem so I have created a copy of the original install CD (an exact .ISO copy which auto starts when inserted into the CD drive) This CD has the NETWORK MONITOR software which is used to setup the network SSID and selection of security used (if any)

There are also drivers on this installation CD but in addition I also grabbed some drivers online (not hard to find although the Linksys site is no longer of any help in this regard) to get this running on my test machine, running Win 7 64 bit. The adapter installed fine and works well and I have included a couple of basic screen shots of the adapter as seen by my test system.

COSMETIC CONDITION:

USED but barely ...

Clean

NO physical damage to the case, USB port or the USB cable

I have now packed packed this 'box of network tricks' into a sealed, clear plastic pack and it now sits waiting for someone else to give it a purpose in life i.e enable another laptop to access a wireless network - it yearns to be doing some work again!

USED Exactly as described
