George Wade joined his father at Manchester Potteries, Burslem and eventually when George Junior took over the business, becoming George Wade & Sons Ltd from around 1922.

Wade is well known for the introduction of "Wade Whimsies", figurines, Jugs, Decanters and these decorative leaf dishes with their realistic glaze colouring, naturalistic veins and the stem handle.
