BACKGROUND:
Yes, the photograph is lousy! This transistor came my way via the distributor as a result of a request for "sample product" for R & D purposes. I am not sure about these days but in the past (the long distant past!) if a device was being considered for circuit design, a nice request to the distributor was often followed by nice little sample packs being supplied - this was one of those samples.
It is still in the completely sealed ESD (not an ESD product but that is how it was sent) and because of that, I could not get a decent photograph of the device.
