BACKGROUND:

My wife "collects" but is changing which type of china/porcelain she wants (now pre-1900's) and she has come to realise that many of our treasured items need to "leave home" to find a new, caring home to live in.

DLAT RATING: 9.9/10 (Darling Look At This!) Nothing is perfect but this is close!

Dainty, delicate, very pleasing shape and 'pleasing to the eye' and of course, it's Royal Albert!

This advertisement is for the Saucer ONLY - my wife had the trio originally but at the moment she cannot locate the teacup nor side plate

ROYAL ALBERT - Side Plate

Made In England

Circa Late 1980's

Fine Bone China

Pattern: COLLEEN

Transferware decoration (we believe, because when you look extremely closely at the artwork, you can see the tell-tale patterns of dots or hashes used to create the decoration, no signs of an artist marking and well ... even Royal Albert had to try and reduce costs to be competitive and hand decoration is just so expensive)

Background colour is clean, bright White

Design: A classic & timeless design which brings the peace and tranqullity of an English garden to the afternoon tea setting. The artwork is dominated by small Pink, Purple & Blue flowers with extensive foliage. Soft pastel colouring without any garish finishing touches such as Gold or Platinum rim work. The rim does have some finishing decoration though, a VERY pale Lime Green.

Being fine bone china, this saucer is translucent (you can easily see the shadow of your fingers through the china when held up to a strong light source)

BACKSTAMP DETAILS:

Makers mark printed on the base of the side plate (under the glaze)
