Fine Bone (translucent) China, meaning that if held up to a strong light source you can see the shadow of your fingers through the china.
Pattern: Code number 8539 (marked on the teacup only) I cannot find a definitive name for this code, some apparently call this "Shabby Flowers" - I disagree these look to be shabby!
The base china is a bright White.
The design comprises groupings of a Pink rose bud & White flower along with a couple of something like Jonquil's with foliage - along the line of "flowers of the garden"
Transferware, not hand decorated although it appears as though the gilding was undertaken by hand, with the gilder's mark present on the underside.
Gold gilding has been applied to the rim, handle (back & left side only) and the foot of the teacup while the saucer is has gilding applied to the scalloped rim only.
