Began operations in 1927 until around 1961 then finally closed down in the early 1970's

DLAT Rating 9/10 (Darling Look At This!)

SALISBURY Bone China

Teacup ONLY

China is opaque, meaning that when held to the light you cannot see through the material

We do currently have the trio but in the interests of offering the greatest number of options, each item is advertised separately ... take a look HERE

Pure white base with a high lustre

Design is Plum Primroses with foliage arranged in a continuous pattern around the upper section of the teacup

Gold gilding to the handle on ONE side only (where the finger does not go!) also around the base and of course the top scalloped rim

Artwork appears to be transferware and this is supported by no artists marks on the backstamp

Gilding however is hand decorated

DIMENSIONS:

Standard English teacup (not a demi)

Mouth 89mm diameter

Height 74mm

Handle (standard slightly upturned) sits a further 25mm out from the teacup side

Good sized hook for the finger!

Backstamp is printed in a pale blue

BONE CHINA

SALISBURY (set to run at a diagonal)

(Crown graphic)

ENGLAND

To the side of this printed backstamp is the markings of the Gold gilding artist

The backstamp suggests this teacup is a product from the 1970's, not long before Salisbury closed down.

CONDITION:

NO cracks

NO crazing

NO discolouration

Gold gilding (handle, top outer rim and base area) is in very good condition, practically NO WEAR

Very nice teacup and when part of a trio, a stunning alternative to the much more common "standard roses" themed trio's

Tested as described in the description This item is not returnable, UNLESS dead on arrival
