We do not usually offer items on other people's behalf, but an extended family member has acquired quite a bit of sterling Silver and plate. Knowing that our family runs a website where we are finding new homes for the masses of things we have collected over many many years, these extended family members have asked if 'someone' may like to find new, appreciative homes for some of their items. Most are quite "ordinary", some a little strange and yet others are steeped in mystery - this "souvenir spoon" falls into the latter category ... it looks very much like a small entree Oyster fork and the head of the fork has pressed into it a map of the various islands around Cyprus.

UNKNOWN MAKER - Oyster Fork (1) Only

Trade Name: There are no marks or stamping which could indicate who made this fork

Circa 1960's

Materials: Silver plated Nickel

Stamped into the rear of the fork is simply SILVER PLATED

Pattern: Quite a plain design although with the distinctive head decoration on the handle and the twist in the stem of the fork.

Length is 125mm

COSMETIC CONDITION:

Clean

NO bending to the handle or prongs

NO physical damage at all

NO significant scratching observed, I would take a guess that this fork has not been used very often at all.

I received this Oyster fork slightly tarnished all over (as is usually the case with older Silver based wares) and it has been cleaned up using non-harmful chemicals such as the good ol' Baking Soda and Aluminium treatment and now looks just great - like new in fact.

I have now packed this entree fork into a sealed clear plastic packet to reduce the tarnishing of the Silver which will occur slowly over time due to interaction with the environment.
