Ex workshop spare parts, time for me to find new owners of these components
NEW, Old Stock
Integrated circuit sockets are all the same, right? WRONG ...
IC sockets come in many shapes, sizes, physical design, packaging and with different contact materials, it is important that you read the description below to establish if this is the type of socket you want.
These are wire wrap IC sockets, for 22 pin devices
Wire wrap? Commonly used in years gone by but this connection technique still has it's place in R&D especially - no soldering with the wiring "wrapped" around a square post which actually makes a better electrical connection than solder techniques. Not much good for high density boards though.
UNKNOWN MANUFACTURER - Integrated Circuit Socket
I do not know who made these, the only marking on the body is PO & 24 (stamped into the plastic)
Wire wrap
Machined pin sockets
24 Pin (12 x 2) DIL standard configuration
Package body width 18.3mm x 30.4mm length (real estate taken on the veroboard/pegboard)
Nickel plated contact areas
COSMETIC CONDITION:
CLEAN
Although these should be perfectly fine with regard to electrical conductivity, I CAN see a dullness to the metal topside sockets and the legs - light oxidisation has occurred with these.
Straight pins
Now embedded into and stored on thick foam (to protect the legs) and then sealed in clear plastic
This is not an ongoing supply! Once these have found new owners, there will be no more ...
*** Where the photograph shows multiple sockets, this advertisement is for ONE socket only not all that are shown!
