BACKGROUND
To many this item might be a worthless piece of left over Aluminium but I am very big on reusing or repurposing old electronic components and hardware, from the point of view of sustainability - if it still functions and a purpose can be found for the item, it seems so wasteful to toss such items in the rubbish.
HERE is a page I have created which gives some tables and more detailed information about specific Ee values (Embodied Energy) for different materials plus a link which you can use as a starting point to investigate Ee for yourself.
Nice push fit heatsink for TO-5 semiconductors which require a bit of help dissipating excess heat and we used lots of these in the past in some of our driver modules.

I cannot recall our source for these, although we used lots of these in the past but it was a long time ago. With the cessation of our production some years back, I pulled all of these off the driver boards with a view to sustainability.
