HISTORY:

The Philips PM series of professional video test pattern generators were "stock in trade" for the professional television serviceman from many years ago.

I liked to restore dated test equipment (where possible but not always possible! Try to find the old Tektronix EPROM's for example!) but too many areas needed service on this PM5519 instrument and it was decided that it would become an "organ donor" to other ailing PM5519's

I am offering ONLY the spare part described below, NOT the complete instrument

PHILIPS - Test Instrument

Model: PM 5519

Function: Colour Television Analog Signal Generator

Part Offered: Front & Rear Frame (Set of 2)

Philips Part Numbers: 5322 447 94188 (Rear Frame) 5322 459 24076 (Front Frame)

The Philips Service Manual is a bit sparse on detailed information so here are some dimensions for you ...

FRONT FRAME

Outer Dimensions: 275mm Wide x 116mm Height x 18mm Deep

The 18mm surround thickness is even on all sides i.e there is no angling of the frame front to back.

Inner "Cutout" Dimensions: 260mm Wide x 102mm Height

4 holes, one in each corner, for mounting plus a further 2 holes in the centre of the top & bottom sides making a total of 6 mounting holes (all are 4.25mm diameter)

REAR FRAME

Outer Dimensions: 275mm Wide x 116mm Height x 18mm Deep

The 18mm surround thickness is even on all sides i.e there is no angling of the frame front to back.

Inner "Cutout" Dimensions: 246mm Wide x 88mm Height

Notice that the rear inner cutout is quite different in size and geometry to the front frame - externally they are identical but this rear frame has allowances for the fitting of the feet etc and there are only 4 mounting holes, not 6 as on the front frame.

Material of construction: Diecast Zinc metal

Colour: Gun metal Grey

These are the metal surrounds around the front & rear panels - they are secured to the instrument case with screws (not supplied) and the frames have internal 'slots' which fit nicely onto the main case of the instrument.

Both frames have been cleaned & polished and now look very presentable, they would provide a nice finish to any PM5519 case that is looking a bit worse for wear.

NO physical damage to either frame.

Since removal from the equipment, these two frames are now safely stored in a sealed plastic packets to protect against damage, waiting to give 'new life' to another PM5519 out there!
