BACKGROUND:
My wife "collects" chinaware, mostly of English origin, and while she has tended to focus on the world of tablewares, a later move has been towards high quality figurines.
Her favourites are currently early 20th Century "Dresden Lace" works, and while these are truly very special in both the design and very skilful decoration, she also has quite a number of Royal Doulton figurines. While sorting through her current Doulton figures, she has realised that she had a couple of "doubles" and one (Becky) that was just too modern for her particular interests.
These figurines have been with my wife for a long time, so she thinks of all her figurines as "besties", but it would seem to be time that these three females need to leave our home and join another persons collection.
My wife wishes that all three went to the same new "forever home" (and I have been asked to offer an automatic discount when this is the case) but it may well be that someone just would like one or two of the figurines.
Two of the figurines (Dinky Do & Monica) depict children and these are from the 1960's era but the tallest lady (Becky) is much younger as she left the Doulton works around the early 2000's
As usual, each figurine design has its unique "HN" number, this refers to the Royal Doulton manager Harry Nixon who oversaw the introduction of the figurine range in 1913.
The smaller child figurines, Dinky Do (HN1678) & Monica (HN1467), were first introduced in 1931 and were in production until the mid 1960's - my wife believes these two child figurines that she is offering came from the 1960's period. It should also be noted that both of these earlier production figurines have the initials of the works decorator just below the hand applied HN number.
All figurines have been hand decorated, and it is notable that the earlier pieces (Dinky Do & Monica) have a great deal more detail and decorative colouring than the much "younger" Becky.

BECKY ...
Wow! What a stunner she is! Becky is the tallest of these three figurines, with pale Blue eyes and standing at 8.5" (220mm) with her amply flowing Baby Pink gown. No fancy trimmings (jewellery etc) and just three colour hand painted decorative work, being Baby Pink, Brown and pale Blue. Overall the decorative work is quite plain, she isn't even wearing fingernail polish! A pleasant facial expression, Becky has the look of sophistication and in real life would surely be immediately noticed when she entered the ballroom! Becky was "born" anytime after the year 2000, my wife says she bought her home around 2002...my wife says she hasn't aged a day! (Becky, not herself!)

COSMETIC CONDITION:
I have inspected Becky very carefully (my favourite pastime) and cannot see any flaws at all
NO chips
NO cracks
NO discolouration to the decorative work
NO signs of domestic violence! Meaning those very delicate parts, such as her fingers, are undamaged nor are there signs of bruising (discolouration) on those lovely long arms.
Even her eyes are clean and bright!
NO original box (long gone) as Becky frequently was used as a dining table decoration for those "special occasions" and when not adorning the table, she "slept" behind glass in one of the cabinets.
DINKY DO ...
Quite a contrast from Becky, Dinky Do is a wee "Victorian period" lass, her name indicates a small, neat child (Dinky being derived from variation of the Scottish word Dink) and the Do in her name suggests a child-like cuteness. She is only half the height of Becky, standing at 4.25" (110mm) dressed with her White bonnet cap, Lime Green bodice and in a Blue & Pink gathered skirt. To my point of view, Dinky Do has a smirk on her face, I think she may well be a cheeky wee thing! This earlier figurine (from the 1960's) has much more colour decoration (I personally love the blushed cheeks) and shaping of the figurine in comparison to Becky.

MONICA ...
Another child figurine, Monica represents the charming innocence and joy of being a child. Monica is wearing a typical bonnet of the period, dressed in her lovely Victorian dress and holding a carry basket of freshly picked flowers from the garden - you can't get much more innocent than that. Just like Dinky Do, Monica is a small figurine (appropriate really), standing at just 4.25" (110mm). This is easily the most colourful and skilfully created figurine out of all three that I have become intimate with. Extensive multi-colour hand applied decorative work and the bunch of flowers are really quite something. Monica is the only young lass who is showing one of her shoes too!

The most delicate part of this creation is the flowers in the basket. The petals are VERY delicate and often subject to damage over time - THESE FLOWERS ARE NO EXCEPTION! I took a very close look at those petals and believe that 3 of the petals have had the outer most piece of china "knocked off", as evidenced by the White showing on the edges of the petals (please take a look at the close up photograph) Such a shame but (in my humble opinion) not a big deal but I cannot in all honesty say that this figurine is perfect ... it is not. I showed this to my wife, she was horrified but "what can we do?" She pondered, time passed by and then ... in the end she suggested I simply offer Monica at a much lower asking price.

All pieces are now within a sealed clear plastic packaging to protect them from airborne dust n dirt. We care about our chinaware and as those who have dealt with me before will know, these will be EXTREMELY well packed so that they have a safe trip to their new home(s)
