Collet knobs are used where the component shaft is round without a 'flat' spot (D shaft) and provides a secure, tight grip onto the shaft
This size knob is often found on professional electronic equipment, particularly test equipment.
What is a Collet knob?
Collet knobs use no grub screws or push on friction fit to the controlled component shaft
Flip off the top cap (available as a separate item), unscrew the central nut and the knob releases from the shaft - reverse this procedure and the all metal grip mechanism (brass) effectively and securely "clamps" onto the shaft

Shaft collet measures 6.05mm (fine for standard 1/4" shaft)
