Oh Dear! This item has been sold but take a look around for other similar items

This device "was" new old stock but I ran it for 1 hour to check it was working correctly!

USA product but this version is designed for our 240V AC supply and more importantly (for timing) to run at 50Hz

The purpose of this meter was to allow for the measurement of time elapsed of equipment that is powered up via this hour meter. Most often these were used for time activated maintenance procedures of industrial equipment.

Think of this as a mechanical clock which cannot be reset to zero

Old technology but very reliable and simple (remember KISS - keep it simple stupid)
Made obsolete by the advent of non-volatile RAM storage options

This elapsed hour meter is brand new, has some scuff marks from being in the spares box and it WAS all zero's until I made my 1 hour test prior to advertising on here.

Elapsed Time Meter (Hours)

Model 44-9929 M78T

Electromechanical

THERE IS NO RESET POSSIBLE - the whole idea of these units is to measure the time that equipment has been "powered up" - it is supposed to be tamper proof, so that someone cannot wind back the clock. The inside mechanism is totally sealed - you would have to destroy the casing to get inside.

I have no data sheets on this meter, I guess it is possible that some sort of magnetic reset is possible but I haven't any information reqarding this.

This unit will read up to 100,000 hours and the least significant digit (the white one) shows the time "ON" in 6 minute increments.

To test the unit, I had it powered up for one hour and six minutes - as this cannot be reset, that is the new owners starting point in time.

The unit runs quietly and the motor on the rear (the silver part) gets warm but not hot.

Diameter of the front face is 72mm and has 3x mounting holes, your mounting hole for the unit would need to be around 57mm.

Could be useful for Hire Equipment (to measure how long the users have had the equipment in operation) or when servicing of equipment is required, otherwise it's just a vintage curio!

Of course, once the 100,000 hours mark is reached, it is useless!! no more counter (I don't believe this meter can be reset) 100,000 hours of CONTINUOUS operation works out at 11 years, with cycled on-off operation being much longer
