BACKGROUND:
This DC Power lead is NEW, extracted from boxed, sealed & obsoleted Transcom (Australia) communications equipment. Nothing too special about this lead but it may come in handy when you are looking for a lead to mate with this type of "Molex style" equipment socket.
Now I must make it clear that this lead, is NEW and has never seen a drop of DC running through it. The original equipment which went onto the "operating table" (workshop) was supplied to end users (technical department) as part of the TRANSCOM product line based on the VTX3000X Mobile Communications Gateway. Realising that the equipment as it stood was currently useless for any commercial use (obsolete), I took it into the "operating theatre" (workshop) in my capacity as Chief Surgeon and removed any components that I felt had the potential to see another day of use .... useful parts were removed from the "patient", including this DC power lead with the mating PCB mounted socket.
Although this DC power connector was used with the Transcom equipment, many other pieces of electronic equipment use this type of plug-socket for their DC input requirements.
DC Power Lead
Country of origin is unknown
The connectors are unbranded so I will just refer to these as being in the "Molex" style, the body is Cream coloured nylon with inserted pins.
4 pin BUT only 3 pins are available
Keyed so that accidental incorrect orientation to a matching socket is not possible.
Latched, meaning that when the plug is fitted to the socket, it locks into position (top 'finger' release)
Wire sheaths are colour coded ... Red, Red with Black stripe & Blue
Each wire is the same length and measures 44cm
These were originally intended to comfortably pass up to 2 amps current @ 12V DC
The basic dimensions of the "Molex" connectors is 9.75mm x 9.75mm OD
The mating male connector was RA mounted onto the PCB
These are completely NEW with the exception of the mating male socket which was of course lifted off the PCB.
Packed into a sealed, clear plastic individual packets
