For the collector of 'all things Mariah Carey' or those who collect bootlegs (some folk actually collect these!)

This release is unofficial, unauthorised and often referred to as a bootleg release. Australia pumped out a number of these during the 1990's, the 'SW or Mainline" label being a couple of them.

The recordings are all live performances and the quality is NOT of the same standard as an official release.

So why bother offering this recording Russ? (I hear you asking with one eye closed and standing on one leg unsteadily)

While NOT condoning music theft (the copying of officially released music which robs the label and artist of their income) in our audio production days we did use just this type of recording to 'obtain' the "pure unaltered" recordings so that we could listen to the artist performing 'warts and all', no studio sterilisation of the sound, no edits, no polishing of the music ... often these recordings were sourced "on stage" straight from the FOH desk(s) into a portable DAT recorder (remember them?)

Cat# SW127

Australian release

1994

CD case, front cover and rear inlay are in very good condition.

CD media is in very good condition, visually inspected under a bright White halogen light source and I can see no marks or scratches on the media at all. Just looking at the media is not a great way to judge the condition so I then played the ENTIRE release, every track completely (my head hurts!) and there are no issues with playback at all.

ALL TRACKS ARE LIVE RECORDINGS AND THERE ARE NO REFERENCES TO SPECIFIC CONCERTS. APPEAR TO BE CUT//EDIT FROM VARIOUS SHOWS, NOT A RECORDING OF A SINGLE SHOW. Normal fade in - fade out between songs, track indents but each song begins without any audience "banter" from Mariah although plenty of audience applause!

Sound quality is "acceptable" for general listening, if anything the high end is a bit lacking and the low end sounds a bit "muddy" and I can hear low level hum on the first track. The mixing is fairly balanced so I suspect the source audio feed was through one of the FOH desk(s), not a concert goer with microphone in hand (I heard one of those once, with the recording dominated by the audience nearby the person making the recording talking loudly and screaming ... boring as)

TRACKS: Emotions, Hero, Someday, Without You, Make It Happen, Dream Lover, Love Takes Time, Anytime You Need A Friend, Vision Of Love, I'll Be There
