BACKGROUND:
Sustainability is the name of the game! Anything (that has been tested and still functioning properly) should be repurposed creating saving in wasted Ee and reducing the poisoning our environment when items are buried in the earth at the local tip needlessly.
Never heard of Ee? It is a concept that creates a measurement of ALL things (not just electronics) that humans have made and the energy used in obtaining the raw material, processing the materials right through to a finished product and even should include the shipping of the item to the distributors/retailers.

This electronic component is USED but has been tested, ex some R & D work we were undertaking some time back.
I have been in the electronics "game" for almost 60 years and worked closely with some of the best component manufacturers of the day including SIEMENS, PHILIPS and RIFA. However, I have hunted through my component data books and cannot find the PFD series from RIFA so the information about these special capacitors is a bit sparse unfortunately.
They look for all the world like JENSEN PIO capacitors (paper in oil) with the same shaped casing and outer sleeve but there is no obvious indication these are in fact paper in oil so I will have to "assume" these are Polypropylene types.
High precision, lovely little caps (if you think of capacitors as being things of beauty!) My wife thought they were fancy candies! Another thought was that they were an inserted medical aid! The European capacitor manufacturers not only produced great products, they were colourful to boot!

Due to previous use, one "end" of the leads is pretty short at just 4mm length, the other end being 35mm. As the cap body measures 33.5mm length, you can JUST fit this onto a PCB standing vertically but more suited to point-to-point wiring.
COSMETIC CONDITION:
USED (for a short period in some prototype equipment)
Being used and since many moons have passed since this was last used, I have made some basic tests on the capacitor ...
Measured Capacitance: 112.0nF
Vloss: 0.0%
This measurement would seem to indicate that the capacitor is ever so slightly "out of spec" being closer to 3% of the design value (on the low side)
There will be NO ongoing supply of these Rifa capacitors, once they have found new homes there will be no more ...
