For the serviceman, restorer of all things "old" and perhaps not so old!
How many times do you come across a really nice portable vintage radio receiver but the "whip" antenna has been snapped off or badly bent so it doesn't extend any more?
Perhaps these "rescued" extendable antenna may come in useful ...
UNBRANDED - Extendable Antenna
I have two different types at the moment so the description is split between the two ... I think I have more but these two are all that I grabbed yesterday.
ANTENNA 1:
Straight antenna i.e the lower pivot section is missing. Usually when replacing one of these antenna's, the short pivot section will still be with the receiver and undamaged - it is usually the whip that "cops it"
Fully closed: 186mm length
Five extending sections
Fully extended: 817mm length
Base section diameter 6mm
Mounting section measures 8mm length x 2.5mm thick and has a 2.5mm ID hole for the mounting screw (NOT supplied)
Top end has a Red plastic "top hat" so that the user doesn't accidently stab someone!
Clean, shiny Chrome finish
All sections move smoothly within each other AND none are bent.
ANTENNA 2:
Pivoting antenna, this means the the pivoting section remains with the antenna.
Fully closed: 145mm length
Six extending sections
Fully extended: 636mm length
Base section diameter 7mm
The pivoting section (like a hinge) measures 7.5mm length x 1.75mm thick and has a 2.5mm ID hole for the mounting screw. The pivot section is supplied (along with the screw and one very thin metal washer) and this lower section measures 25mm length x 7mm OD and has a Brass section at the end, into which a mounting bolt is threaded (the bolt is included)
Top end has a Chrome "top hat" so that the user doesn't accidently stab someone, although in my opinion the Red plastic one is easier to see and avoid!

All sections move smoothly within each other AND none are bent.
Both of these antenna are now packed safely into a sealed heavy duty plastic packet, awaiting a new purpose in life!
