This tableware ceramic set was made by Shorter & Son (UK)

Shorter & Son (Stoke On Trent) were in operation 1906 ~ 1964 and produced a wide range of decorative tableware and pottery, including Toby Jugs.

Set comprises the sauce boat and matching fish plate that the boat sits upon

Circa 1930's

Typical Art Deco design

Pale Orange is the dominant colouring with Lime Green colouring to the tail and fins

Hand decorated pieces

 

DIMENSIONS:

Sauce boat: 130mm length (tail to pouring spout) x 90mm height (base to the top lip of the fishes mouth)

Fish plate: 165mm length x 115mm wide


Base marking (impressed) both pieces

BUT a light "touch up" with the finger reveals a tiny little chip on the front lower fin - I could only find this by feeling the smoothness of the ceramic work. It is very small but there none-the-less
