Oh Dear! This item has been sold but take a look around for other similar items

HISTORY:

This component has been pulled from a piece of test equipment which provided low variable voltages at very high current capabilities. The equipment casing had become damaged but some of the components can be repurposed .... this is one of those components.

Sustainability is the name of the game! Anything (that has been tested and still functioning properly) should be repurposed creating saving in wasted Ee and reducing the poisoning our environment when items are buried in the earth at the local tip needlessly.

Never heard of Ee? It is a concept that creates a measurement of ALL things (not just electronics) that humans have made and the energy used in obtaining the raw material, processing the materials right through to a finished product and even should include the shipping of the item to the distributors/retailers.

If you would like to know more about Ee values, please take a look HERE

UNIDENTIFIED MANUFACTURER - Binding (Terminal) Posts

I strongly suspect the country of manufacture was Japan

Type: Panel mounting Low Voltage HIGH Current terminal post(s)

This advertisement is for a set of TWO, one is Red and the other Black

All mounting hardware is supplied

Materials used:

High impact plastic, Brass and Copper PLATED Iron! See my comments below under the COSMETIC CONDITION section to see what I mean by Copper plated Iron

DIMENSIONS:

This terminal makes your "standard" panel mounting terminals look like dwarfs!

22.7mm "top" section (the plastic part) x 21.65mm diameter

Total length front to back, including the rear bolt is 37.4mm

The front contact area (for your cable or very large banana plug) is Solid turned Brass 8mm diameter (inside) and is approximately 15mm deep

On one side of the terminal is a large (7.5mm diameter) metal grub screw to keep the cable in place

Rear of the plastic section is HEX shaped and this is the type of hole required in the panel to which it will be mounted. This hex area measures 17.75 x 17.75mm and 3.6mm thickness

A slot in the plastic front section allows for a sprung C clamp to push fit against the panel and once fitted, the terminal cannot rotate or move backwards or forwards - very secure.

Moving towards the rear, next item is a large spring washer and then the bolt.

For all the world this bolt LOOKS like Copper but it is just plated Iron, how do I know? Because the bolt had some rust on it! I then checked with a magnet and yep! it is ferrous.

I have seen other audio equipment manufacturers do this (Copper plating of Iron on their screws and bolts) It seems to be a "prestige" thing and in reality, pure Copper is probably too soft to use as a bolt.

The bolt measures 19.5mm length, thread diameter 7.75mm and it fits nicely into the front Brass section. The amount of thread on this bolt measures 11mm and originally there were TWO large 8.25mm "eyelet" connectors sitting on this thread - an easy fit.

This bolt has a hex head so you will need a set of hex tools to secure/undo the bolt.

This is a truly impressive set of panel terminals, if you are working with high ~ very high currents. The original equipment was easily able to provide up to 40A @ 30V to give you an idea of the current carrying capabilites

COSMETIC CONDITION:

USED

Clean

NO physical damage at all

Just two of the bolts suffered the "rust dust" issue, but it is not serious and I have "cleaned up" where necessary.

The Brass section is very nice and clean, shiny and no oxidisation (typically you would see a Greenish dust)

These terminals are rearing to go and sit in sealed clear plastic plackets, ready to serve a useful purpose once again!

*** Where the photograph shows multiple terminals, this advertisement price is for ONE SET of Red & Black terminals only - not all that are shown ***

SPECIAL NOTE:

In the original equipment, the output could be split over the two sets of terminals or connected in parallel using two pure Copper (yes they really are Copper!) busbars. If these Copper busbars interest you, take a look HERE

USED Exactly as described
