HISTORY:

More "old" surveillance system related items that I have found in my storage. Although old (we had these in use around 15 years ago at our premises) I still see these being used in local in public areas by the Council.

This camera housing is complete, waiting for a camera to be fitted inside (easy) If interested, we have a GANZ DayNight camera, model ZC-NH258P previously installed. That camera is available to view or purchase HERE

Built into this housing is a temperature/condensation control system ALTHOUGH this needs servicing .... see below for the details

Industrial Camera Housing ONLY - no camera is fitted

Shroud, body & mounting arm are all of Aluminium construction

Heavy glass (3mm) front window

Internal camera mounting bar is heavy duty plastic

Very easy to instal a camera inside, single screw mounting - we used this originally with a GANZ camera

Comes with the mounting arm which can rotate 360 degrees horizontally and around 50 degrees vertically

Once the arm positioning has been set (screw fixing) it is now securely fixed in position

Remote rotation of this camera housing is not possible

PARTS INCLUDED

This enclosure is well constructed and sort of like a "kit set", reminded me of working on Eurocard rack systems, where everything fits nicely into place and is then locked down with screws.

All hardware required to assemble or dis-assemble the housing, including all bolts/screws in included

The outer shroud has a channel on each side which runs the entire length, the main body slides (with some effort) down this channel until the correct position is reached, I say with "some effort" because the outer shroud is "spring like" so you need to hold it spead open slightly while pushing the main body along the channel.

The front window & camera base/temperature electronics then also slide inside the main body and finally the lower metal bracket for the arm is also slid into place and secured with 2x screws.

Two rear ports allow for cable exits

The arm also has a single hole to tidily provide an exit point for the cable

DIMENSIONS:

410mm front to back x 105mm height x 116mm width

Weight: 1.5Kg

TESTING:

What? Testing an enclosure (I hear you ask)

Inside you will notice a very small PCB at one end and a mysterious aluminium block at the other.

This is a basic internal temperature control system, to prevent condensation on the front window.

The aluminium block at the front acts as a heater, it reads 85 Ohm DC resistance when cold and when +12V is applied, draws around 200mA initially but slowing this increases to 300mA and then remains stable. It is like a very small "slow start" heater. After a couple of minutes it is "warm to touch"

Leads from this heater go back to the small PCB at the rear.

Mounted on this rear PCB is a thermal cut-out switch and that switch is connected in series with the heater. The idea is that when the internal temperature reaches the trigger point for the thermal cutout, the heater is turned off.

This PCB has a two pin Molex connector for power.

SERVICE REQUIRED!

The thermal cutout has made it's last cut-out, it is open circuit PERMANENTLY. So the heater will not operate and the temperature system is rendered unusable. The thermal switch is soldered directly onto the PCB (single sided board) which means that replacing the switch with another is not a difficult task. Just select the operating temperature of your own thermal switch, install and you are back in business controlling the internal temperature.

The switch currently installed is marked as A 25 03EN G25 and I am guessing this may mean it is a 25C thermal switch.

Of course, the use of this temperature system will largely depend upon the environment that you use the housing in - if there is no chance of condensation, then there is little point in repairing/using this system.

COSMETIC CONDITION:

USED
