AMPHENOL - Adaptor Patch Lead

TYPE II

40cm length

2x RCA Male plugs ~ 2x XLR-Male plugs

Unbranded coax (Blue sheath, figure 8 style 12.85mm wide x 5mm thick)

Sheath is completely unmarked but it looks very similar to WES Australasia "in-house" cabling we used

This Blue cable is a "moulded" type, normally joined between the two cores but this cable has had the join removed except for a short length in the centre (5mm)

The RCA connectors are moulded to the cable (you cannot "get inside") but the XLR connectors are both AMPHENOL and fully accessible.

COSMETIC CONDITION:

USED

Cable sheath is fine, no nicks or other sheath damage other than the intentional splitting of the join between the two cores

ALL plugs are in very good condition

Let's take a look inside ....

Connections at the XLR's are sound and have been made professionally, I cannot take a peek inside the RCA plugs as they are both moulded.

TESTING:

I am calling this a Type II XLR ~ RCA patch lead.

This is the "normal" patch lead of this type .... I also have another patch lead BUT instead of pin 2 being hot, it uses pin 1 with pin 2 being unconnected.

If you are looking for a "different" patch lead of this type (where the hot pin is 1) then please take a look HERE

Each "side" of the cable is single core, one for each audio path RCA to XLR

Shield is connected to XLR Pin 1 on both XLR's and through to the RCA outer sleeve

Pin 2 is connected on both XLR's and is connected through to the RCA centre pin

Pin 3 is connected has no connection on either XLR at all

Although it is pretty easy to work out which XLR connects to which RCA, the XLR bodies also have marked on them (Black pen) 2B & 2R - when you have a lot of very similar patch cables all sitting together, these markings can help sort out the patch leads.

I have now placed this lead into a clear, sealed plastic packet awaiting a new owner.
