HISTORY:
My wife is cleaning out our "overgrown" collection of mainly English chinaware because she has quality chinaware coming out of our ears!
She has collected quite a bit of Wedgwood over the years but does prefer "old" Wedgwood but from time to time her friends heard that she collected such things and this Wedgwood trio was gifted to her quite some time ago ...
She feels an appropriate time has passed since receiving this gift and she has now decided to find a new, possibly more appreciative, home for this Wedgwood trio
WEDGWOOD - Teacups, Saucer & Side Plate (Trio)
This advertisement allows the buyer to purchase EITHER the saucer, teacup OR side plate separately (for replacements) or, if all pieces remain available, as a complete trio - automatic discounts are applied when purchasing more than one item
We have advertised this CHARLOTTE trio in such a manner because we frequently are requested to advertise items piece by piece, not whole sets, for replacement purposes.
If an item does not show in the "choose your piece" box, that means ... yes you guessed it ... it has already been purchased and there are none of that item left.
Although "contemporary" all of these pieces have been made in England (NOT offshore such as in Asia, a practice other English chinamakers undertook to reduce manufacturing costs)
Wedgwood pattern: CHARLOTTE
Translucent bone china, meaning that when held up to a light source you can easily see the shadow of your fingers through the china.
Small Red, Pink & Yellow flowers with foliage decoration dominates and finished with a Burgundy rim edge line.
All pieces use a swirl fluted pattern for the body, not a smooth china.
The base colour is a pure, clean, bright White
NO Gold gilding has been applied to any piece
DIMENSIONS:
Teacup: 90mm diameter mouth x 70mm height
Standard handle
Saucer: 142mm diameter
Side Plate: 172mm diameter
WEIGHT:

BACKSTAMP:
Here is a photograph of the item(s) backstamp

COSMETIC CONDITION:
This section describes ALL three pieces in general terms, any "other issues" noted while inspecting these pieces are showing just below this general description
USED
CLEAN
NO cracks
NO discolouration to either the bright White base china on either piece
NO damage or discolouration to the decorations
NO wear or damage to the Burgundy "ring" around the outer edge of each rim
NO tannin (tea) stains inside the teacup
NO fleabites
The saucer & side plate need no further comment
However, I did notice a very small flaw on the teacup, near but on the "underside" of the rim ... a tiny chip in the china. It is very small but I can feel it with my finger. When viewed from above looking down upon the teacup, this chip is not visible. I have taken a closeup photograph is this chip (last photograph) and the asking price has been adjusted accordingly.
Nice trio of "modern" Wedgwood that just doesn't suit my wife's collection tastes so it is now just patiently sitting in one of the china cabinets awaiting a new home to live in.
