These are egg cups with "distinction" from my wife's Coalport & Wedgwood collection which she is trying to "wittle down" a bit ...
Wedgwood is very well known for their superior china products, particularly Jasperware but they extensively produced products which could be termed as "tableware" Actually these were produced by Coalport Pottery until 1967 when Wedgwood bought Coalport into their family (they acquired Coalport)
WEDGWOOD Egg Cups (2 offered separately)
Egg Cup
Series: Countryware
Pure White fine chinaware
DIMENSIONS: 51mm OD x 53mm height
BACKSTAMP:
This is a photograph from the egg cup(s) being offered
CONDITION:
The first section of this description equally applies to either egg cup, followed by any differences between the two egg cups I am offering
USED
Clean
NO cracks
NO crazing
NO chips
NO external discolouration - pure as the driven snow!
HOWEVER, one egg cup (let's call it egg cup #2) has a mark or stain inside at the base. I have tried to clean this with normal soapy water and even a dab of Bleach but it does not "shift" at all. The underside has no corresponding marks or discolouration, this appears to be on the inside surface only but I (and my wife) has no idea what has caused this mark. This marked egg cup is priced lower because of this mark and only this mark, no other differences between the two.
