Decca Record Player Head
Circa 1950's
Truly a very large (and quite heavy) tonearm head - my first impression was that this is a cutting head but after researching, I can confirm this is definitely a playback head
Very early electromagnetic not ceramic
1950's brand new technology due to the use of a T shaped sapphire assembly
Patented by Schwartz #2469933 and GB615424
This T shaped styli assembly is fully detailed in the patent and was designed to more faithfully reproduce music in the 1950's.
The head is bakelite construction, not plastics
NO damage
T styli is fitted although the styli is worn
Comes with the holder/mounting base
A very hard to find relic of early record player memorabilia
