HISTORY:
It always helps to know where a used component came from, it's heritage!
This transformer is low profile because it was used in broadcast equipment DIN41612 rack cards, not much height is normally available.
The transformer is from TALEMA (headquarters were based in Germany, the parent company in Switzerland but considerable manufacturing is now undertaken in Czech Republic) This is a product from the 1990's so I am not sure, but suspect, they were manufacturing in Germany at that time. Distributed in Australia by Tortech P/L, a well known supplier of high quality power products.
These transformers were typically running 24/7 and designed to perform reliably under these such conditions, often at higher than "normal" ambient temperatures such as inside a rack based system.
TALEMA - Toroidal AC Power Transformer
Designed & manufactured in Germany (most likely)
Circa 1990's product
Model: 92209-P3S02
Dual primary winding 2x Primary windings (separate windings) one of which is 110V and the other 110 & 130V tapped.
DUAL Secondaries: 14V 40VA EACH winding
All windings are colour coded and easy to identify (marked on the toroid transformer)
Violet - Blue: 110V AC Primary winding
Brown - Pink - White: 110V/130V Primary winding
With the White & Violet strapped together, apply 240V AC to Brown & Blue
All primary winding wires are within the Yellow sheath
The secondary windings are of a heavier gauge wire with a coloured sheath
Black - Red: 14V AC @ 40VA (approximately 2.8A)
Orange - Yellow: 14V AC @ 30VA (approximately 2.8A)
Both primary and secondary phasing is indicated on the transformer wiring diagram
TOROIDAL DETAILS:
92mm OD x 32mm Height
Centre hole is unfilled - NO epoxy
NO mounting kit is supplied i.e the rubber/metal pads with the central bolt is NOT supplied
I am offering the bare "donut"
LEAD LENGTHS:
Primary: 130mm
Secondaries: 40mm
WEIGHT: 900g
TESTING:
NO LOAD conditions: I have tested this transformer using the two primary windings for 240V AC input, both secondary outputs measured at 14.7V AC each secondary winding
COSMETIC CONDITION:
USED
CLEAN
NO damage to the core or windings
NO signs of any stress while in previous use
PLEASE NOTE: I have NOT strapped the primary windings for 240V operation in a permanent way (solder with heatshrink) just in case someone wanted to use a different primary AC supply voltage.
