Such a well known name in the world of very high quality, audiophile speaker products, these are sought after by those who enjoy excellent sound (and have very deep pockets!)
DALI is not a reference to that famous artist, Salvador, but in fact is an acronym for Danish Audiophile Loudspeaker Industries. Elegant, classy appearance with famous Dali audio quality

These loudspeakers were designed and manufactured by DALI, they are not el-cheapo's stuffed into a nice cabinet!
These drivers date from around the 1980's - my Suite 1.5 system is the "organ donor" which unfortunately ended up with one "cooked" tweeter (as they do!) and as it was going to be difficult to find a replacement plus I am using my Australian Aaron's most of the time these days, I have decided to breakdown the Suite 1.5 and offer it "piece by piece" as I felt this was the most flexible way to find new uses for these excellent components.
Great original replacement for another Suite 1.5 (and possibly other models) OR create you own high quality system based on these DALI's - don't forget, although the loudspeaker may be great, the cabinet needs to be both acoustically and physically well designed, an art in itself!
Adieu to the background chit chat ... let's get down to the description of this offering
DALI LOUDSPEAKER - 4" Mid Range
Designed & made in Denmark
Extracted from my DALI Suite 1.5 system
Part # 810803
Clean
Impedance: 8 Ohm
Frequency range (estimated, based on the Suite 1.5 specificaitons) 40Hz ~ 5Khz
Power handling: (estimated, based on the Suite 1.5 specifications) 80W
Here are the specifications for the Suite 1.5 system
Frequency response 41Hz - 24Khz
Nominal Impedance: 4 Ohms
Power Handling range 40W - 160W
89dB efficiency
Bass Reflex resonance at 43.5Hz
Cross-over is set for 3Khz
As the drivers are "sharing" the amplifier power output, my estimated power handling of EACH of these drivers is half of the manufacturer's specifications
The low end response can be expected to be around 40Hz although the cabinet also comes into play for this low end limit.
As the crossover for the tweeter is around 3Khz and the frequencies above this would gradually be attenuated with higher frequenices, I have estimated the 3dB point for these drivers probably sits around 5Khz
The impedance is not stated on the loudspeaker labelling but measures 6 Ohm DC resistance, this would fit well for an 8 Ohm Z.
Like the Grundig's and others from Europe that I have had the joy of owning, although a small compact loudspeaker, they pack plenty of high quality punch with attention to "detail"!
DIMENSIONS:
130mm x 130mm x 75mm depth
4x 4.75mm diameter elongated hole mounting (in each corner)
70mm x 28mm magnet
Pressed metal basket, finished in Black
Side spade terminals, 5mm & 2.75mm wide
WEIGHT: 675g
COSMETIC CONDITION:
USED
Clean
NO damage of any kind to the basket, cone, dust cover or the rubber surround.
The terminal strip is secure, not loose!
Immediately prior to packing these up safely, I have rechecked the DC resistance of each to ensure they are in A1 electrical condition.
I have now individually placed each driver face down onto a sheet of very stiff cardboard and then sealed within clear plastic, to keep them in pristine condition while they await a new purpose in life!
