Such a well known name in the world of very high quality, audiophile speaker products, these are sought after by those who enjoy excellent sound (and have very deep pockets!)
DALI is not a reference to that famous artist, Salvador, but in fact is an acronym for Danish Audiophile Loudspeaker Industries. Elegant, classy appearance with famous Dali audio quality

This tweeter was designed and manufactured by DALI, they are not el-cheapo's stuffed into a nice cabinet!
This tweeter dates from around the 1980's - my Suite 1.5 system is the "organ donor" which unfortunately ended up with one "cooked" tweeter (as they do!) and as it was going to be difficult to find a replacement plus I am using my Australian Aaron's most of the time these days, I have decided to breakdown the Suite 1.5 and offer it "piece by piece" as I felt this was the most flexible way to find new uses for these excellent components.
Great original replacement for another Suite 1.5 (and possibly other models, I believe the Blue 5005 also uses these tweeters) OR create you own high quality system based on this DALI tweeter - don't forget, although the loudspeakers may be great, the cabinet needs to be both acoustically and physically well designed, an art in itself!
Adieu to the background chit chat ... let's get down to the description of this offering

Here are the specifications for the Suite 1.5 system
Frequency response 41Hz - 24Khz
Nominal Impedance: 4 Ohms
Power Handling range 40W - 160W
89dB efficiency

Cross-over is set for 3Khz
The impedance is stated on the loudspeaker labelling, being 6 Ohm DC resistance, or 8 Ohm Z.
Like all tweeters, watch you do not overdrive these little critters or they will suffer an open circuit voice coil for sure - in most systems I have worked with over the years, the tweeter is often the first (and sometimes only) loudspeaker element to get fried!
DIMENSIONS:
2.54mm central voice coil
93mm diameter mounting flange x 32mm depth (including the flange thickness of 3.75mm)
5x 3.75mm diameter round hole mounting
55mm diameter & 40mm diameter dual magnets (VERY strong magnetic field!)
Plastic mounting flange
Side spade terminals, 2.95mm wide (these do have centre holes which means that direct soldering is possible)
WEIGHT: 235g
COSMETIC CONDITION:
USED
Clean
NO damage of any kind to the mounting flange or the voice coil dust cover.
The terminals are secure, not loose!
Immediately prior to packing these up safely, I have rechecked the DC resistance of this tweeter to ensure it is in A1 electrical condition.
I have now placed this tweeter face down onto a sheet of very stiff cardboard and then sealed within clear plastic, to keep it in pristine condition while it awaits a new purpose in life!
