HISTORY:
My wife "collects" but is changing which type of china/porcelain she wants (now pre-1900's) and she has come to realise that many of our treasured items need to "leave home" to find a new, caring home to live in.
Roslyn China operated during the period 1946 ~ 1963, producing pottery at the Park Place Works, Longton.
Outstanding fine bone china trio teaset, not the usual "flowers of the meadows or garden" but small pieces of hand decorated art on each piece, depicting an Elizabethan cottage with thatched roof in the "country setting" dominated by very colourful flowers (there's those flowers again!)
My wife has no idea if this cottage, which she thinks is called Wayside Cottage, still exists but I have made some searches online and found a number of heritage listed cottages with the same name, these cottages are not local to Longton however.
Gold gilding has been applied to the usual areas i.e top lip of the teacup, down each side and the back of the handle and a single ring around the base. The saucer and side plate have only the scalloped rim gilded.
Very close examination of the decoration definitely shows it was hand created and this is supported by the backstamps showing the artist and the gilder's mark.

This first section of the condition report is universal to all three pieces, any difference or flaws are noted below this section
CLEAN
NO cracks
NO chips
NO crazing observed
NO discolouration observed to the White base colouring and the application of colour is smooth and consistent over each piece. No pieces have any "stains", in particular the inside of the teacup - no tannin stains!
NO damage or wear is apparent to the decorative work
NO observable wear at all to the Gold gilding on all pieces, not even the most handled areas such as the teacup handle and saucer edges although I must say this was one of my wife's "show ponies" meaning it hardly had any use at all.
NO fleabites to any piece, in particular the saucer and side plate - nice!
The are no additional comments about any individual piece
Very nice "arty" trio teaset
