MINOR ISSUE ALERT - Please read this condition report ENTIRELY
Yet another 'Golden Oldie" compilation from artists in the early 1970's, some "standards" such as Slade and then others are memorable primarily because they are "quirky". An example of quirky is the song from Luodon Wainwright III called Dead Skunk. Imagine writing a song about a road killed skunk, with lyrics such as "dead skunk in the middle of the road, stinkin' to high heaven" Weird but funny enough, I actually remember this song when it was released so something about it stuck in the memory!
Besides the commercially successful Slade release and the quirky Dead Skunk songs, there are also some hidden gems ... remember the band Thump'n Pig & Puff'n Billy? No? ... one of the band members was Billy Thorpe ... nice little rock number titled Captain Straight Man
Perhaps not the best album title choice for a compilation album though Majestic/K-Tel !! The songs are really not that "Super Bad"

Vinyl is in good (minus) condition, visually inspected under a bright White halogen light source and I can see just one light scratch on Side 1, the first track. The remainder of Side 1 and the whole of Side 2 are in very good condition. This is actually quite amazing, I have had multiple copies of this particular release in the past and so often, after 50 years of pretty rough handling, they are often practically not playable - this copy is the exception.
Just looking at the vinyl is not a good method to judge the condition so I then played the ENTIRE album, every single track, and there are no significant issues with surface noise nor clicks n pops HOWEVER two issues I did notice ... That scratch on Side 1, Track 1 (Slade) does show up as a single low level click and then a very very short mistrack towards the end of the song. The mistrack causes Noddy (lead singer of Slade) to skip a syllable, NOT jump around the track, so the effect is minimal.
The other observation is that the vinyl has a slight wave which is particularly noticeable when playing Side B. My tonearm had no problems with tracking but the vinyl is not nice and flat, this is easy to see while the record is rotating. When playing Side A you cannot see this wave at all.
