Our past involvement in the music industry (audio post production) mean't that we received and stored thousands of "not so well known" releases from Australian and New Zealand bands and artists - these are like thin slices in time, often great music which didn't make the "big time" (wrong place, wrong time) but often still holds memories of previous gigs or even of the band members or artist (the talent) themselves.
This is one such recording ... to most people it won't mean much but to some ...
Five piece band hailing from the musical melting pots of Western Sydney, no not Blue Mink (remember their song, Melting Pot?) but the Stone Puppets! They gigged around the Sydney area in the late (ish) 1980's - geez they are all old men (and a lady) now!
This copy has not been walked on, left in the sun or otherwise abused but instead it has been safely tucked away in our extensive music library and then after I closed the business down (Hey, I'm getting too old for this shite!) it went into many boxes of "goodies" (treasure or trash? it depends who is listening to it), along with all the other music.
Beside the music, the German label is interesting too ... with artists under their umbrella from USA and NZ besides this band.
Why a German label and not local (I hear you ask with the tongue drooping from one side of your mouth ...) The lead singer, Robert lives in Germany and a connection was obviously made with Gift Of Life records, resulting in this release. It seems that Robert did at some time work with a "pensioner punk hardcore band" in Bonn, Germany called blowin CHUNKS
THE STONE PUPPETS - In Search Of The Meaning Of It All
Cover is titled STONE PUPPETS but the record label is THE STONE PUPPETS

German release
A pretty standard packaging for "promotional" 7" releases, meaning there is a single folded sheet with 3 colour print front and rear. Inside this cover is a plain White paper sleeve containing the vinyl record. Also there is a separate printed sheet with one side promoting a German record distributor and the other has all of the song lyrics plus credits. There is also a 95mm x 60mm Yellow/Black adhesive sticker STONE PUPPETS. All of these items are in "as new" condition, I am probably only the second person to have touched this packaging for the last 40 years! Oh, no foxing or paper damage and no graphic art damage or discolouration. Of course the sticker is unused.
New inner plastic sleeve - I detest paper sleeves (paper dust) so I have changed the paper sleeve for a new lined, plastic sleeve
Lemon Yellow vinyl is in very good condition, visually inspected under a bright White halogen light source and I can see no marks or scratches on the vinyl (although it can be tough seeing these due to the Yellow vinyl obscuring such things). Just looking at the vinyl is not a great way to judge the condition so I then played the ENTIRE release, both sides, and there are no issues with surface noise nor clicks n pops. I did notice however that the vinyl is not perfectly flat, not a heat warp or anything like that but there is a very slight "wave" as the record rotates on the platter.
New outer thick plastic protective sleeve
