The Co-operative Wholesale Society (C.W.S. Ltd) worked from the Windsor pottery located at Longton. The pottery began in 1911 and operated the tradename, Windsor. It was acquired in 1971, afterwhich the tradename changed to Royal Windsor.
The backstamp on these pieces shows that these date from anywhere between 1960 ~ 1971
For the greatest amount of flexibility we are offering these "piece by piece" in case you just need a replacement or if you would like the complete trio (if still available), then an automatic discount comes into play in the checkout.
Price indicated is for EACH PIECE, however if all three pieces to create a trio are selected then an automatic discount does apply in the checkout

C.W.S. LTD - Teacup, Saucer & Side Plate
Made at the Windsor works located in Longton, Stoke-On-Trent England
Trade name: WINDSOR
Pattern name: unidentified
Additional clue: On the underside of the teacup ONLY, the gilder has written (in Gold of course) 62357/6 - I have been unable to match a pattern name with this code
Circa 1960 ~ 1971
Fine Bone China
Translucent - meaning that if a piece is held up to the light, you can easily see a shadow of your fingers through the walls of the piece
Transferware - looked very closely at the decoration and this is not hand painted
Design: Two decorations on each piece, featuring Yellow petal flowers which look "something like" Black Eye Susan's but the stem isn't "right", quite rose-like in appearance. The exception to these Yellow petals is the teacup with also has one Blue petal flower featured.

Fluted sides to the teacup, the saucer and side plate with all edges having a gentle scalloping

COSMETIC CONDITION:
This first section of the condition report is universal to all three pieces, any difference or flaws are noted below this section
CLEAN
NO cracks
NO chips
NO crazing observed (Dry & Wet tested)
NO discolouration observed to any area of the pure White base china, particularly inside the teacup where no tannin or other staining has occurred.
NO damage (scratching etc) to any of the decorative artwork on any piece
SPECIFIC FLAWS NOTICED
TEACUP:
Gold gilding in one short section of the top scalloped rim does seem to have extremely light wear to the edges ... not terrible but noticeable when viewed closely. All other gilding is perfect, including the teacup handle area.
SAUCER:
Three very small (but observable) fleabites to the underside - no discolouration from bacteria ingress (remains bright White) but they are there none-the-less. Gold gilding to the scalloped rim is perfect, no wear apparent.
SIDE PLATE:
Four very small (again, observable though) fleabites to the underside - no discolouration from bacteria ingress fortunately (still bright White). Gold gilding to the scalloped rim is perfect once again, no wear is apparent. The central area of the side plate also has practically no knife cut or scratch marks.
Overall, yes there are light signs of usage (as indicated above) but very insignificant (in our opinion) and this trio still presents itself very well.
There are no further comments specific to any individual piece.
