These were not so popular, most of the stock standard parallel printer cables used the Type B Centronics connector but it could be handy if you happen to have an OLD HP printer, scanner or even tape drive (these all had the bi-directional Centronics interface in the early days before the faster SCSI standard became the norm) that you wish to fire up.
