While we (actually my wife) collect fabulous English & Irish chinaware's, sometimes that little bit of novelty Australiana catches her eye - this is one of those items.
Kookaburra's adorn the decoration on this piece
This side tray or plate is designed in the fashion of a "tennis set" with this design intending to support the cup (click on The Cup to see it) with a nice slice of cake (or a healthy sandwich) to the side. Notice that this tray is intended to be used with the matching cup because instead of a common round depression for the cup, the depression on this tray is square in shape so that it matches with the cup base.
Rectangular tray with raised sides which are adorned with Gold gilding to the topmost edges.
She doesn't even know who made it (no maker's name at all) but she always felt it was a "Chinese made thing"
