More LED's salvaged during my cleaning of the old workshop stock from my previous audio post production workshop spare parts. Closed some time ago and "retired" from the game so I am ever so slowly working through the bits and pieces that need to find new workshops to "live in"
I am very much "into" sustainability, a manufactured component (no matter how small) represents an appreciable amount of embedded energy and to waste that embedded energy is a very bad thing, even worse is to bury it in landfill and subsequently poison our environment!
What is embedded energy?
Embedded energy is a measurement of the total energy that was used to create a component, a module or a complete piece of equipment originally and should include all processes used in the manufacture of the item, from obtaining the raw materials, processing them, making the product and then shipping to another manufacturer in the "chain" or being supplied directly to stores as a finished product for retail sale.
Here is yet more of the optical spare parts I have unearthed today ... these panel mounting LED's were specific to "some pro audio equipment" but I cannot remember which. If you have seen the old Broadcast gear with panel operator buttons that light up, these are similar but without the switching function - just an indicator only
Here is what I can tell you about these ...

Unfortunately these were in a plastic packet without any identification markings .... I have no idea where or by whom they were made.
Colour: ORANGE or GREEN
I have both Orange or Green modules, the number of Orange available is much larger than the Green. By using the selection box on this page, you can select which colour you would like and the quantity. No minimum's and if you purchase more than one, the price is automatically discounted.
DIMENSIONS:
6mm x 6mm x 1.25mm thick front diffusion lens
Behind this lens is the main White body of the module
At the front, the body also measures 6mm x 6mm i.e there is no flange
The total length of the module is 8.4mm
The 3mm LED has been inserted from the rear into the body cavity
Lead length is 25mm, one slightly shorter to indicate the cathode.
This module is of a FIXED design, meaning that the front section cannot be removed and the LED cannot be extracted from the housing ... it is a permanent home!

NO significant oxidisation to the leads
TESTING:
Using a DC power source of 6V with a series limiting resistor, I took at look at these LED's in operation. I do not have the intensity data any longer but these look to be pretty run of the mill, around 20mcd light intensity.
Although a number of these LED's are showing in the photograph, this price is for ONE LED not all of them. However, if you would like more than one LED, an automatic discount is applied in the checkout and this applies to a mix of Orange & Green as well. No minimum quantities apply.
