Back to cleaning up my previous audio post production workshop spare parts. Closed and "retired" from the game quite some time ago and I am ever so slowly working through the bits and pieces that need to find new workshops to "live in"

I am very much "into" sustainability, a manufactured component (no matter how small) represents an appreciable amount of embedded energy and to waste that embedded energy is a very bad thing, even worse is to bury it in landfill and subsequently poison our environment!

What is embedded energy?

Embedded energy is a measurement of the total energy that was used to create a component, a module or a complete piece of equipment originally and should include all processes used in the manufacture of the item, from obtaining the raw materials, processing them, making the product and then shipping to another manufacturer in the "chain" or being supplied directly to stores as a finished product for retail sale.

Here is yet more of the optical spare parts I have unearthed today ...

UNIDENTIFIED MANUFACTURER - Bi Colour LED

Unfortunately these were in a plastic packet without any identification markings .... I have no idea where or by whom they were made.

Colour: RED or GREEN

Nice package, two LEDs in the one 5mm body with each being controlled separately (three leads) Actually you can "fire up" both colours at the same time although the Red does dominate and the resulting colour is a slightly changed shade of Red - not much point really.

DIMENSIONS:

5mm diameter body x 8.7mm length

The three leads are a minimum of 22mm length, each being slightly longer than the lead next to it.

Centre (Cathode) is common to both LED's

Diffused (Milky White) body

COSMETIC CONDITION:

NEW Old Stock

Clean

NO significant oxidisation to the leads

TESTING:

Using a DC power source of 6V with a series limiting resistor, I took at look at these LED's in operation. I do not have the intensity data any longer but these look to be pretty run of the mill, around 20mcd light intensity.

NOTE: my antiquated camera is not good in the colour balance area and the Green looks almost Yellow, in reality it is Green.

Although a number of these LED's are showing in the photograph, this price is for ONE LED not all of them. However, if you would like more than one LED, an automatic discount is applied in the checkout. No minimum's apply.
