Ex my workshop adapter lead rack, used but only barely!
These are a bit "special" down in this part of the world as the lead was used with European audio equipment which often had/has DIN standard connectors.
This lead was used for audio work but note the TS 2.5mm Black plug which is a "control" connector, the pinout details are below ...
UNBRANDED - Adaptor Lead
70cm metre length
Standard DIN 8 pin male circular connector (7 pins in a circle with a central 8th pin) and at the other end there are three "breakout" connectors, two being 3.5mm mono (tip - sleeve) types and one is a 2.5mm mono plug. These 3.5mm connectors are colour coded to make life a little easier.
The DIN connector is soldered, meaning you could change the pin connectors if you wished, and is substantially unidentified other than the number 29 stamped into the insulator. The 3.5mm connectors are molded types and do have JAPAN stamped into the body - nothing else.
Unbranded cable is used, it is 70cm in length
WIRING - TESTING:
Pin 2 is signal ground (cable shield) is connected to both the Red & White 3.5mm sleeves ONLY. The 2.5mm Black plug sleeve is NOT connected to this common ground path. There is NO connection between signal ground and the DIN outer metal casing, this is "floating"
Pins 1,3 & 8 have no connections at all - empty solder cups
2.5mm Black plug
Sleeve connects to DIN pin 6
Tip is connected to DIN pin 7
3.5mm Red plug
Sleeve connects to DIN pin 2 (signal ground)
Tip connects to DIN pin 4
3.5mm White plug
Sleeve connects to DIN pin 2 (signal ground)
Tip connects to DIN pin 5
COSMETIC CONDITION:
USED (but barely)
Cable sheath feels very nice, has no nicks or other sheath damage. Looking closely at this cable, it is double sheathed with a cloth or nylon layer between the two sheaths. There is a twisted strand shield comprised of bare Copper but this is a twist and not a more usual woven shield. Cable wires are colour coded Purple, Black & Red.
The DIN plug, 3.5mm & 2.5mm plugs are all in very good condition
I have now placed this lead into a clear, sealed plastic packet awaiting a new owner.
