Yes, it's a honey pot ... remember this song?
The song is all about sugar, honey and candies (all of a different type to this Honey Pot though)
We have always liked to have a little fun with our wares, life's way too short to be serious about EVERYTHING ... so let's talk about Honey, not the lady but that lovely Golden elixir made by the bees ...
This honey pot is super impressive, designed & crafted in Australia and look at that wonderful glass honey scoop. Ok sure, it's not your normal "wooden dipper" but the glass scoop looks great and does the job just fine.
As you lift the scoop out of the pot, that gorgeous Golden Yellow Honey just drips down ... so natural, so healthy, so Golden! Yummmmm...now where are those crumpets or waffles?
HISTORY:
A nice piece of "Australiana", we didn't always collect beautiful Irish, English and "other" chinaware's, we also liked a few pieces of Australiana - this being one of them which must now "leave home" as the house is way too crowded with such things and as older folk, we need more room to move around!
The roots of the Jimmy's Creek Pottery began back in the 1970's when it was called Wartook Potteries but underwent some changes in the late 1990's including a new name, Jimmy's Creek Pottery.
This piece, the lidded Honey Pot, is typical of designs created by Jimmy's Creek with the slipcast Pink & Green wreath and Green lines around the base, the neck and the top lip.
The glass long handled scoop is an add-on but suited (for us) use with the Honey Pot perfectly. My wife cannot remember where the scoop came from originally, it is unbranded and unmarked.
