BACKGROUND
To many this item might be a worthless piece of left over Aluminium but I am very big on reusing or repurposing old electronic components and hardware, from the point of view of sustainability - if it still functions and a purpose can be found for the item, it seems so wasteful to toss such items in the rubbish.
HERE is a page I have created which gives some tables and more detailed information about specific Ee values (Embodied Energy) for different materials plus a link which you can use as a starting point to investigate Ee for yourself.
Nice push fit heatsink for discrete semiconductors which require a bit of help dissipating excess heat and we used lots of these in the past in some of our modules. Unlike many heatsinks offered in retail electronic parts supplier stores, these Thermalloy's have known characteristics which takes the guess work out of how well they perform in "real life"
