Dang! I salvage the smallest little things which fall into the category of "Oh that might be useful one day" ... I never used it (after around 40 years!)
It was a long long time ago but I recall removing this adaptor bushing from the shaft of a component, to which was attached a front panel "full circle" station display - yes it was a memorable receiver from days of old.
This neat little piece of bright shiny Brass interfaced between the variable capacitor shaft and the front panel ... but please read the description below and I am sure someone will think to themselves "Hey! I could use that in my little project"
So let's get down to "Brass tacks" and I will describe this piece of hardware to you.
MANUFACTURER UNKNOWN - Metal Adapter
Most likely made in Australia as this came from some vintage Australian radio equipment.
Material: Solid Brass
Brass body measures 17.4mm length x 11.95mm OD
One end has been drilled out, to suit use with a standard 1/4" round shaft. On the side of the body is a single grub screw (hex head) and this tightens down onto the inserted shaft, holding it securely in place. The depth of this 1/4 diameter hole is 10mm.
At the other end is a bolt, a small centre hole in the Brass is threaded and accepts this bolt for the full 9.5mm length of the bolt. I do not know what the thread is but I will be supply the hex head bolt in any case.
The steel bolt (ferrous) and non-ferrous lock washer are supplied, the bolt is 13.6mm length (included in the hex head) and 4mm OD
Weight: 15g
COSMETIC CONDITION:
USED
Clean (and shiny, I like Brass to look like Brass!)
NO damage at all
I have now packed this adapter into a sealed clear plastic pack to reduce the effects of oxidisation on the Brass and it now waits for a "lateral thinker" to find a use for it!
