BACKGROUND:
I am slowly "working through" the workshop/production spare parts stores and here is a surprise, for me at least!
I actually remember buying these yonks ago (and I mean yonks) from Geoff's store down in Lane Cove - I am almost certain the shop isn't there now. Always an interesting visit to that store, Geoff had a lot of unusual bits and pieces and I think he was a National Semiconductor distributor at one time as well. We are talking the late 1980's here!
This means I have had these in the spare parts section of the workshop for a very long time - these were used with floppy drives installed on old synth systems I seem to recall. I must say I was surprised at the price paid for these, $11.05 each is a lot of money in the 1980's!
Always been in the original packet until today when I opened the packet to take a clearer photograph and then heat resealed it.
Not sure who made this IDC connector, Geoff had a wide range of AMP products but the component doesn't have any indication of who made it, so I will call this a generic product.
GENERIC (UNKNOWN MANUFACTURER) - IDC Connector
Country of origin: Unknown
Part # 34P (this is the only marking I can find stamped into the connector)
34 Way (2x rows of 17)
Male
All contact pins are Gold plated
Complete plug assembly
COSMETIC CONDITION:
NEW Old Stock
CLEAN
Due to the age these have been sitting in the spare parts drawers, I have VERY carefully checked for any signs of oxidisation on the IDC pin side - there is none.
The original Geoff Woods Electronics packet has always been sealed, I have opened it to take a clearer picture and then heat re-sealed it once again.
This is NOT an ongoing supply, once stock is exhausted there will be no further supply
