HISTORY:
I am not a 'film buff' and my "world" is 'the arts' and more specifically, music, artwork and hand crafted/decorated chinaware's.
An extremely unwell associate has asked me to find new owners for THEIR large collection of photographic and film items ... this is one of those items.
I am BIG on sustainability and I am hoping very much that someone else may find a use for this lens filter and further below in this advertisement I have described this filter to the best of my abilities.
I am not an expert on this equipment or these filters, PLEASE read the description below completely and decide if this item may be of interest to you.

I believe the 37mm thread WAS used many moons ago on film and video equipment then superseded by larger threads, however some folk tell me that SOME modern compact equipment does use 37mm threads so perhaps this relic from a long time ago may still be useful.
I did find some useful information about these filters, if the reader doesn't already know ...
The ND 0.9 filter is a solid type with an 8x filter factor that provides a 3 stop exposure reduction. Its 0.9 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily. Neutral density filters do not affect the colouration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters.
This filter is made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and then mounting to precision metal rings.
The lens is completely NEW but old (I suspect VERY old) stock.
The outer box looked a little "grubby" so I took a look inside ...
It does indeed appear to be exactly as the owner purchased it many years ago, inside the cardboard box is the massively long "fold out" information sheet about all of the different TiFFEN filters, their purpose and technical information.
Also inside the box is a plastic "screw on" two part protective case for the filter, which is inside. The original Silica Gel pack was still there and I LOOKED at the filter very closely and cannot see any signs of it having been handled or used and certainly NO SCRATCHES, MOULD SPOTS OR HANDLING MARKS. I have not touched the filter at all - leave well alone!, I know these optical "things" are very delicate.
I am 100% happy that this filter has indeed never been touched by a human finger(s)!

Now that I am finished inspecting and taking a few photographs, I have sealed this filter inside a plastic package along with some new Silica Gel (the original Gel remains next to the filter inside) and it now waits for someone to give it a new home (or lens to sit in front of!)
