Australian picture disc release
The original cover is missing ... only the picture disc vinyl is being offered, still in a new inner plastic sleeve, with a plain White cardboard outer sleeve and also a clear plastic outer protective sleeve. This picture album was originally in a picture frame but is still playable if so desired, but please read the detailed notes below about this before running your precious styli across this vinyl.
New inner plastic sleeve
The vinyl is in good (minus) condition, visually inspected under a bright White halogen light source and although it can be difficult to view marks and scratches, I can see a few light scratches on either side. In any case, just looking at the vinyl often isn't good enough so I played this release ENTIRELY, every single track, and there is certainly an elevated level of surface and some click/pops. Details are:
Side 1
Track 1, elevated surface noise during the run-in, intro to the song.
Track 2, towards the end of this song there is quite a sustained click click click at a medium level due to a long scratch it would seem
Track 3, this same scratch continues into this song and actually becomes louder.
Track 4, again this scratch continues and in fact a couple of small mistracks occur - not good! Suddenly, all is well with the world again and the click n pops cease altogether from approximately mid-point through her song
Track 5, the scratches/clicks n pops have settled down and this track is an "ok" play
Side 2
Track 1, again there is elevated surface noise during the run-in, intro to the song which slowly "fades away"
Track 2, This is the medley and it plays fine albeit with the occasional low level click n pop
Track 3, (Where Did We Go Wrong) The clicks are getting bigger (play on that famous song from the Mentals) but then they suddenly cease and a good long relatively quiet play on the remainder of this track.
Track 4, Continuing on from track 3 the surface noise level and occasional click n pop do not detract from the music and in my opinion, this track probably is the best play of all.
Overall, this picture disc vinyl album has been abused which is probably why we had it up in a frame, hanging in one of the studios! For show only. Yes, a few of the tracks provide an "acceptable" play but this vinyl is more appealing for the look than the sound it provides.
