This is one of those releases that was sent through to our previous post audio production facilities for a "take a listen to this" but damn ... not much bio or contact info was included - GOLDEN RULE! If you wish to send your creative 'work of art' to some A&R guy or elsewhere, it seems pretty sensible to tell them how to contact you - some don't!
I presume that Son Al Son (or is it Alson - differing text on the front and spine!) is a Cuban band leader, the front man. The group describes themselves as "The All Star From Cuba"
Here are the credit members:
Israel Zambrana - Bago (I think these are Cuban drums)
Pedro Quintana - Bongo
Felix Alvarez - Tumbadoras
Ramiro De La Guesta - Guitarra Tres
Osmar Gespedes - Cantante (Vocals)
Antonio Ruiz - Cantante (Vocals)
Eugenio Alfonso - Trompeta
Juan Duquesne - Guitarra Y Voz (Acoustic guitar & vocals)
Alfredo Sinclair is the band representative
Mastered by Argel Gomez
No idea where it was recorded but it sounds like a studio recording, not live.
Un Sueno in the album title is a versatile Spanish word but I would imagine the English meaning could be roughly translated to 'The Dream ...'
Not just a collection of 'folk' songs, some pretty interesting authentic music from Cuba here!
SON AL SON or SON ALSON - Un Sueno
Self Release

Cuban release
SPECIAL NOTE: This is a promotional copy, meaning that the front cover and rear inlay have been inkjet printed, not commercial offset printed.
Additionally, the media is a CDR not a pressed CD. It has a coloured "stick on" face label applied. Looks to have been written in standard Red Book format with -2 second backwards count between each track.
CD jewel case, front cover and rear inlay are all in very good condition.
CDR media is in very good condition, inspected visually under a white halogen light source and I can see no marks or scratches on the Green/Yellow CDR media at all. I then played the ENTIRE release, every track, and there are no issues with playback at all. Production quality is good, some interesting Cuban beats here and I love the fact that all instrumentation is acoustic - no electronic instruments or effects added.
TRACKS: Tema Presentacion, La Rosa De Francia, Guaguanco Jesus Maria, El Pollito, Chan Chan, A Gozar La Habana!, Como Me Da La Gana, Candelina, Dos Gardenias
Look now I am no Spanish speaking gringo and finding an example of their musical style online was a bit tough but here is one of the songs on this release but NOT performed by this group (no piano for a start) ... sit back, imagine you are sitting at a cafe table in Havana enjoying the music!
